J. Robert Gordon, Founder and Executive Director of the American Health Association and its Orphans of War Campaign is a visionary, author, futurist and social architect. He views the world from a global perspective, a view that gives him insight and awareness into the global consciousness of the planet that is insightful and thoroughly different in thinking. He is gifted with the ability to present this perspective, this new world-view in a simple yet understandable and enlightening way. Experiencing a lecture or workshop with Rob will open you to a totally new world view, as well as personal insight and epiphany into your own journey, not just of enlightenment, but on the role you very well can and should play in re-engineering your health and the health of the planet. One of the reasons Rob began the American Health Association was his own insight into the anatomy of life and death. For 11 months and 26 days, Rob was hospitalized with a real death experience, not a near death, but a real death experience. During this episode at Massachusetts General Hospital, unable to move one motor nerve, one muscle, one body part, he began analyzing why we become the victims of illness, disease and early or premature death. We, as a human species manufacture most of our illnesses, diseases and sudden unexpected death due to stroke, heart attack etc. Most of us are suffering from "health neglect" or put another way: health illiteracy. We take health for granted and fail to comprehend the consequences of our lifestyle and habits. We have been capture by technology, enamored by television and spectator sports etc. Health is not a spectator sport. We don't understand the language of health he uncovered during his paralyzing journey. We speak with a fork tongue, unfaithful to our mission on this planet and totally misinterpreting the internal body. There is a synergy or harmonic accord between our body, brain and spirit. There is a co-relationship with, not just a relationship with, how we see the external universe and our internal selves. From this passage, this journey, this life and death experience with Guillian-Barre Syndrome at Massachusetts General Hospital, was born the American Health Association and its socialization component known as the American Volunteer Corps. To see more about the American Health Association please see the various web links at www.americanhealthassociation.org Rob is inspiring and motivational speaker. He's often called on to speak on topics of health & wellness, leadership, team building, overcoming your hurdles and the importance of interpersonal relationships. His book "Future Aging" will be published in the Spring of 2006. |
