Packing EventsOrphans of War volunteers come from all walks of life. Many come from the American Volunteer Corps, but lots come from the community. From Girl & Boy Scout troops, to churches and synagogues, from corporations big and small, they all come together once or twice a month at Teddy Bear Central in Delray Beach, Florida. Here they write the Teddy BearGRAMS, sort out for quality control, pack up and tape then address each box with tender loving care. Finally, each box is decorated by little boys and girls who accompany the big folks on this venture. Boxing and packing usually occur on a Saturday morning from 9:30 to noon and 5,000 items are usually boxed and shipped per month.To volunteer please get in touch with the office or fill out any of the forms including email and a volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you. If you live out of the South Florida area and want to get involved with the Orphans of War team, simply fill out the form enclosed and a volunteer coordinator will touch base with you how you can participate. We love to see other areas of the country take part and ship directly.
